🕋 Birth and Early Life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)


The life of Prophet Muhammad (īˇē) is a shining example of mercy, patience, and guidance for all of humanity. His early life, marked by both hardship and grace, shaped the noble character that would later carry the message of Islam to the world.

📆 Birth and Background


Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in the city of Makkah on a Monday, the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal, around the year 570 CE, commonly referred to as the Year of the Elephant. He belonged to the noble tribe of Quraysh, custodians of the Kaaba, and was from the respected Banu Hashim clan.

He was given the name Muhammad, which means “the praised one”.

đŸ‘Ē Family and Orphanhood


Father: Abdullah ibn Abdul Muttalib, who passed away before the Prophet’s birth.

Mother: Amina bint Wahb, who died when the Prophet was only 6 years old.

After the death of his mother, he came under the care of his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, who also passed away when the Prophet was 8 years old.

Thereafter, he was raised by his uncle, Abu Talib, who loved and supported him throughout his early life and protected him even after the declaration of Prophethood.

đŸŒŋ Time in the Desert – With Halimah Sa’diyah


In keeping with the tradition of Makkah’s elite families, the young Muhammad was sent to live with a Bedouin family in the desert to grow up strong and healthy. He was cared for by Halimah Sa’diyah of the tribe of Banu Sa’d.

It was during this time that the famous incident of the "opening of the chest" (Shaqq al-Sadr) took place, where angels purified his heart — a sign of his future greatness.

🌟 Youth: Known for Honesty and Character


As he grew older, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) developed a reputation for being truthful (As-Sadiq) and trustworthy (Al-Amin). He worked as a shepherd in his youth — a humble job that taught patience and care.

Later, he worked in trade and gained immense respect in the community for his honesty and integrity in business dealings.

💍 Marriage to Khadijah (RA)


At the age of 25, Muhammad (PBUH) was hired by a wealthy businesswoman, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, to manage her trade. Impressed by his character, she proposed marriage. He accepted, and their marriage marked a strong and loving partnership. She was 40 years old and his first and only wife until her death.
